Ganna completed her Yoga teacher training in 2017 at Yoga Tree Studios here in Toronto. She has been teaching group classes there ever since and although experienced in all styles of yoga she is now only focused on teaching Hatha, Yin and Restorative Yoga classes. She also completed her Meditation teacher training in 2020 with Hoame studios here in Toronto which expanded her teaching beyond the physical aspect of yoga.
She is now enrolled in her Yoga Therapy training at Yoga Therapy Toronto, which started in September 2021 and lasts a total of two years. This school follows the lineage of the great Krishnamacharya who is often called the “father of modern yoga” as he influenced most of the styles available to us now in the west. Yoga therapy is usually taught one on one unless a group setting is needed for a specific reason. It is a complementary system of health which helps in the treatment of any health issues by using yoga tools which range from yoga poses, meditations, breath work to lifestyle & diet recommendations in accordance with Ayurveda, the sister science of Yoga.
At this time in her training Ganna is required to put the theoretical knowledge to practice through their internship. She is seeing students with any health concerns ranging from physical (with any pains, injuries, conditions such as carpal tunnel, tennis elbow, frozen shoulder, etc.) physiological (diabetes, Parkinson’s, migraines, infertility, etc.) to psychological (anxiety, depression, etc.). These sessions are done to give the student a personalized home practice to aid the improvement of their health as the goal of Yoga therapy is to create autonomy in the students journey to full health.
Ganna is a very patient, positive and calm person by nature which translates into her teaching. She is passionate about using yoga to help others and is very excited to be able to put her knowledge into practice.
