Experience a Traditional Thai Massage with a friend or significant. other.
Thai massage is a healing tradition that originated in India over 2,500 years ago. Unlike other massage styles that typically use long, flowing strokes and kneading, Thai massage employs stretching, pulling, and rocking techniques to relieve tension, enhance flexibility, and stimulate the flow of energy throughout the body.
Thai massage includes rhythmic compression along the body‘s energy lines, known as "sen" in Thai, combined with deep, yoga-like stretches while the practitioner uses their hands, feet, elbows, and knees to move the client into various yoga-like positions. This form of passive stretching can increase flexibility, relieve joint and muscle tension, and balance the body's energy systems.
The massage is performed on a padded mat on the floor with the client fully clothed in a loose-fitting top and pants provided by the therapist. No oils or lotions are used throughout the session and a Traditional Thai Massage typically takes two hours to complete (however we do offer shorter sessions). It's a perfect blend of massage and stretching, often nicknamed "Yoga for lazy people" as the therapist does all the movements for you.
Due to sessions requiring two therapists to be available simultaneously, these sessions need to be booked via phone and typically quite far in advance. If you'd like to get an idea of possible schedule openings prior to contacting us, look on our online calendar for two simultaneous "Couples Thai Massage" openings with two separate practitioners. At the moment only Amanda & Anton offer these sessions, usually on Wednesday evenings and the occasional Saturday.
The sessions are performed by a Registered Massage Therapist
