This service is covered by private health insurance plans under registered massage therapy services.
Registered Massage Therapist manipulate the client's soft tissues to promote relaxation, reduce stress. improve mobility, eliminate pain and reduce overall body tension. During a cupping massage, the therapist places multiple silicone or plastic cups on the clients body to create a suction. The therapist will then either leave these cups in place for a few minutes or move them around. The suction created by the cups further encourages blood flow and fascial release. Cups are used to treat one area of the body and red cupping marks may be left on the treated area for up to a few weeks later. In addition to cupping, other techniques are applied during the massage including: Swedish, deep tissue, active releases, trigger points and myofascial techniques.
